Get outta my way: Kylie Minogue can't hide 'bed face' puffy red-eyed look as she goes make-up free in New York

By MAIL ONLINE SHOWBIZ REPORTER

Wonky: Kylie had something of a case of 'bed face' yesterday on the left as she flew out New York, or else she was the victim of an unflattering camera angle - as she'd looked rather different performing the night before

She's previously admitted having botox but says she's never had plastic surgery - and Kylie Minogue seemed determined to put her money where her mouth was when she went almost barefaced yesterday.

Kylie, 42, went virtually make-up free apart from perhaps a flick of mascara as she prepared to fly out of New York - so couldn't hide her slightly puffy-looking face and reddened eyes.

Perhaps the star had literally just got out of bed which would explain the less flattering than usual photographs.

The normally hugely photogenic singer admitted in May this year: ‘I’ve been honest about the fact that I did use Botox. But I don’t any more, I won’t go near it. I have lines. You can see the lines on my face.’

She also pledged she'd never resort to cosmetic surgery, saying: 'I'd to never to change her looks with plastic surgery. I wouldn’t want to go under the knife. You’re not yourself if you do that,' and claimed the only thing she uses to enhance her features is Ponds Cold Cream.

The day before, Kylie had sported her usual fully made-up and glamorous look when she'd joined A-list stars from around the world for the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony at New York's Rockefeller Centre.

Dressed like a snow queen in a white fur-hooded coat, black knee-high boots and black gloves, Minogue serenaded the crowd with Santa Baby and Let It Snow for the 50,000-strong crowd.

Pop princess: Even if not as polished as by her usual standards, Kylie still looked more stunning than most mere mortals in black biker books, puffa coat, jeans, cap and a Louis Vuitton scarf

Others performing included a pregnant Mariah Carey and Jessica Simpson before New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg switched on the 30,000 energy-efficient bulbs which will light the tree until early January.

Kylie Tweeted after the even: 'Tonight was great, amazing.'

The Spinning Around star has had a busy few weeks in the States, which also saw her performing at NYC's Thanksgiving Day Parade, also in New York, and on Dancing With The Stars.

Meanwhile, Kylie Minogue has confessed she's rooting for Rebecca Ferguson to win this year's X Factor.

The pop princess revealed in an interview with comedian Alan Carr for more! magazine that although she is supporting sister Dannii Minogue, who is mentoring the boys, she really likes Rebecca.

Furry good: The star joined a line-up that included Mariah Carey, Jessica Simpson, Katherine Jenkins and Susan Boyle to mark the start of advent

Kylie revealed: 'Obviously I'm Team Minogue, but I have to say, Rebecca really stands out this year as one of my favourites.'

She added: 'Matt [Cardle] is really amazing. He had a bad week a couple of weeks ago, but he's really come back, and nailed his songs.'

Speaking about the pressure the contestants are under, Kylie said: "It never used to be like this so soon, did it? It was more like they were normal people until the end of the show, and now they're celebs immediately. I just can't imagine what it's like for them. It's such a head spin and whirlwind."

Kylie, who is dating Spanish model Andres Veloncoso, 32, revealed she is gripped by the show.

She said: 'I don't go out at weekends any more! It's TV dinners every Saturday and Sunday. If my boyfriend's round, I rope him into watching it with me. I'm like, "No sport tonight honey, sorry, it's The X Factor!"'
