Kate Walsh Talks Plastic Surgery: 'Strangely Common'

Private Practice leading lady, Kate Walsh is gracing the cover of the March issue of fitness magazine Shape! Among the topics of discussion featured in the interview was... you guessed it, plastic surgery!

Ms. Walsh shared exactly how she feels about the startlingly routine trend that is taking not only Hollywood, but the world by storm.

We live in a strange time when getting plastic surgery is as common as dyeing your hair. But in my profession, I need a malleable face. Everyone has her line in the sand. I draw mine at facials and laser treatments. If others want to go a step further, it's their call.

Strange times indeed, and unfortunately many men and women are taking it a step further, disregarding the necessity of a "malleable face", and as a result we're seeing a steady increase of expressionless faces on the big screen, and in checkout lines around the globe.

Final analysis: The level of poseurs has officially reached an all-time high.

Jonathon Niese Before After Nose Job: MLB Pitcher's Surgery

Today's tale of plastic surgery takes us out to the ballpark, where Major League Baseball player, Jonathon Niese opted for a nose job (rhinoplasty) procedure during the offseason, after former fellow teammate Carlos Beltran made a proposition to foot the bill for the operation.

As you can see, this photo comparison isn't the most telling before and after snapshot, however this is the only 'after' image released thus far. But it is quite apparent that the focus of the procedure was on the curvature of the tip.

Niese, a three-year MLB veteran pitcher, explained to an ESPN reporter how this whole thing came about.

[Beltran] wanted me to have a new nose, so he offered to pay for it. I was just like, 'All right.' Then it turned into seeing doctors and to getting it fixed.

It's helped a lot with my running, it helps with my working out. As far as the mound, I'm not sure.

Early reports are indicating that 'nose job advocate' Carlos Beltran has yet to cough up the cash for the operation, as promised. But something tells us he'll be doing so in the near future, seeing how this story is garnering so much attention.

This is undoubtedly one for the MLB record books, as we're all but certain this is the first ever 'sacrifice-nose job' in the sports history.

The story itself is somewhat mind boggling, and borderline offensive for Beltran to critique another teammates visual appearance... And then suggest plastic surgery. Minka Kelly Before And After Botox? Plastic Surgery Rumors

Last time we caught up with Hollywood starlet Minka Kelly she was chatting it up with Late Show host David Letterman, telling a story about an ex-playmate who advised her to get plastic surgery. And while Kelly ultimately rejected the cosmetic proposal, some people believe the actress has since dabbled in a little artificial anti-aging.

This is exhibit A of what some are saying is Minka Kelly before and after plastic surgery... We've heard a lot of talk about botox injections, instead, we think this comparison showcases Ms. Kelly before and after a heavy dose of "red carpet" makeup. The photos are from 2007 - 2012.

Below is another double-take of the actress, which focuses on the forehead area. In the first photo we see a smattering of expression lines across her forehead, while in the second photo there is virtually no trace of any lines or wrinkles.

Its difficult to say for certain, and this could very well be the result of botox injections, but in our personal opinion, we think Minka's vanishing lines are more likely attributed to both: makeup, and perhaps the use of a high-quality skin serum such as Ferulic Acid. Known to produce tremendous results, for an astronomical price.

Botox tends to cause a much tighter and more unnatural appearance than what we're seeing in these photos. Thus our verdict is "not guilty" in the rumor of plastic surgery. Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

Minka Kelly Plastic Surgery Story: Early Cosmetic Temptation

During a recent appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman, show business beauty Minka Kelly shared a peculiar, yet not so uncommon story concerning plastic surgery and temptation.

Kelly explained how at the ripe age of nineteen she was approached by a woman, an ex-playboy playmate who was interested in managing her career. Fully equipped with a job working at a cosmetic surgeons office, in exchange for plastic surgery?

She was very seductive and said that she wanted to manage me and that I had a lot of potential. She said that she could get me a job at this doctor's office in return for plastic surgery which I would need to be a Playboy Playmate.

Further suggesting that Ms. Minka consider getting "lipo, fake breasts, a few veneers and all kinds of stuff."

Despite initially accenting the job offer, Minka quickly reevaluated the situation, realizing she never wanted plastic surgery in the first place, and promptly cut ties with the before-mentioned hooligans.

When I told her that I didn't want all that stuff, she said I would never be Playmate of the Year and I said, 'I think that's okay. I'm okay with that.'

Luckily, Ms. Minka quickly arrived to her senses before undergoing any of the procedures promised. Unfortunately, its weaselly propositions of this nature that often lead young fresh-faced aspiring starlets down a path of unnecessary plastic surgery.

Heather Morris Before After Plastic Surgery: Breast Implants

Should they stay or should they go... is the question Glee star Heather Morris was asking herself in regards to a 'secret' breast augmentation surgery, which ultimately left the singing and dancing starlet feeling more pain than gain.

The story began in the summer of 2010, when Ms. Morris debuted a much fuller looking bust size, naturally prompting speculation and rumors of plastic surgery. And despite the obvious conclusion (breast implants) many people had jumped to... Morris dismissed the boob job claim and cited the use of push-up bras as the reason for her increase in size.

Flash forward to September 2011 when speculation came to a halt, as Heather Morris came clean and spilled her beans to Fitness Magazine, confirming her breast augmentation surgery, and the reason she had the implants removed.

Implants were something I thought I wanted when I was younger, and now I don't.

It was hard being active with them, because my chest was always sore. It hurt a lot, and I didn't like being in pain, so they had to go!

A lesson learned not only for Ms. Morris, but for fans of hers, who may now consider breast implants as a nonviable option, following the discomfort charge issued by the actress.

Reese Witherspoon Talks Plastic Surgery: "Don't Need It"

There comes a time in every actresses life when decisions have to be made. Whether to age gracefully and remain true to ones natural beauty... or seek out and embrace an artificial and often dangerous form of anti-aging known as cosmetic surgery.

Award-winning actress, Reese Witherspoon recently sat down with Glamour magazine and shared her thoughts on the topic of plastic surgery. And while she isn't the least bit interested at the moment, she also didn't completely rule out the possibility of future procedures.

I'm not for it. I'm not against it. I have plenty of friends who do stuff and if it makes you feel good, great. But I don't think it's the fix for some sort of unease that you're having about who you are as a human being.

Within her statement, Ms. Witherspoon touches on an important yet easily forgotten message. Plastic surgery isn't a cure-all solution that's going to revolutionize your way of existing in a positive manner.

Instead, we commonly see patients who develop a cosmetic addiction, opting for procedure after procedure, a little nip here and a little tuck there... Ultimately transforming themselves into a completely different person. Which generally isn't the idea when entering the operating room, unless its for witness protection purposes.

I don't think I need plastic surgery at this point. Can we just go day-by-day on that one?

Here's hoping Reese Witherspoon stays completely authentic while staving off any and all outside pressure for cosmetic "enhancement." Heaven knows Hollywood doesn't need another plastic actresses...

Reese has previous talked about maintaining a healthy lifestyle with proper diet and exercise. So it come as no surprise that she's rejecting plastic surgery. There are plenty of plastic surgery alternatives available, diet and exercise being a key ingredient to any anti-aging regimen.
