Family affair: Kate Hudson steps out in Santa Monica with mother Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell
She spends most of her time in New York, so it's unsurprising that Kate Hudson and her parents looked so thrilled to see each other.
The actress jetted into Los Angeles yesterday from her New York base and was quick to stop by mother Goldie Hawn and stepfather Kurt Russell's Santa Monica home.
The trio took advantage of the warm California weather by heading out in relaxed summer clothing.
After rugging up in New York last week in a coat and scarf, California native Kate looked happy to be back in the sunshine in a sheer white top and matching cropped tracksuit pants.
She added some gladiator sandals and a pair of oversize black sunglasses to the summery look, which showed off her toned beach body.
Mother Goldie Hawn looked svelte for her 64 years in a black vest and yoga pants, while Kurt Russell kept it casual in a green T-shirt ad jeans.
The Bride Wars actress has been racking up the air miles between the two cities in the past fortnight, making the trip back to son Ryder in Manhattan last week after attending the Elle’s Women in Hollywood Tribute in Los Angeles on October 19.
Mother-daughter day: The lookalike pair share a joke as they leave Goldie and Kurt's home
Goldie and Kurt, 59, also attended the event, where they spent time with 31-year-old Kate's boyfriend, Matt Bellamy.
The Muse frontman appears to get on very well with his girlfriend's parents. He was seen switching seats to talk to Goldie at the Elle party, and is is understood to be giving Kurt guitar lessons.
After meeting in July after three months of dating Kate, 32-year-old Matt is practically one of the family, and was even spotted joining the clan for a bike riding day on the Santa Monica seafront in September.
Good spirits: Kate and step-father Kurt were all smiles in the warm California weather
The English musician, who grew up in Teignmouth, Devon, revealed at the time: 'I'm quite nervous. It's embarrassing when you meet someone's family for the first time.'
He added: 'It's a little bit too soon to talk about weddings and stuff. Ask me again in a few months though.'
Kate has also said it is a conversation for down the track: 'Marriage is definitely not something I’m looking for. But the divorce doesn’t put me off. I’ll just see what happens,' she said in a recent interview with Elle magazine.
Visiting: Goldie and Kurt appeared happy to see Kate, who lives primarily in New York with son Ryder
'I think a lot of times people are terrified of love and stop themselves from experiencing it.
'I don’t ever want to get that jaded. I do believe in love. I believe that when you really open yourself up to love, it’s the most beautiful thing.'
Matt and Kate got together in April at the Coachella music festival in California, where Muse played.
They had met several times before but previously each were in other relationships.
