Hometime: David Beckham carries son Cruz to their car as they leave Old Trafford after the Manchester derby yesterday
Like a lot of five-year-olds, Cruz Beckham likes nothing more than being carried when his little legs have had enough.
After a long day out with his family at the football yesterday, he jumped into David's arms as they left the stadium.
But the footballer was having none of it, and as they approached their car, he tried to put Cruz down - much to the little boy's displeasure.
The two had been at Old Trafford to watch the Manchester United vs Manchester City derby, along with Cruz's older brothers Romeo, eight and 11-year-old Brooklyn.
After watching David's old club beat City 2-1, the family headed to the car park to make their way back to their hotel.
Tired Cruz was carried out of the stadium by David, but kicked up a fuss as his father tried to put him down and get him in the car.
Time to get down now: David tries to get Cruz to walk the rest of the way to the car but the little boy refuses and clings on
Please, Daddy! Cruz throws his head back in mock protest as David calmly smiles at his son's antics
He clung on to David and refused to get down and put his feet on the ground, throwing his head back in indignance.
But from the smile on David's face and the cheeky twinkle in Cruz's eye, we suspect this is a regular occurance between the two, who looked like they were having fun with it.
Once the boys were safely in the car, David then went on a quick walkabout to chat to fans and sign autographs.

David, 35, treated his boys to the match at Old Trafford, where he played for Manchester United for ten years from 1993 to 2003 when he moved to Real Madrid.
And with wife and the boys' mother Victoria - who is expecting a fourth child this summer - in New York where she will be showcasing her new collection at Fashion Week later tonight, it was the perfect opportunity for a boys' day out.
Today, David is flying out to New York to support Victoria at her show and will treat her to a special Valentine's Day tomorrow - their first one together in seven years.
A source told the Sunday Mirror: 'David is flying out to support her on Sunday. He has booked a candlelit dinner at a Manhattan restaurant for Monday and is planning on whisking her off to the Brooklyn Bridge – the inspiration for their eldest son’s name.'
