Leona Lewis turns Lady Gaga in bizarre lips dress she designed herself

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Kiss kiss: Leona Lewis wears a bizarre lips dress of her own creation to the Los Angeles premiere of Justin Bieber: Never Say Never

It wasn't that long ago that Leona Lewis followed the golden rules for classic pop star style - flowing diva gowns and big, cascading hair - religiously.

But since the likes of Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Nicki Minaj have taken over the industry with their out-there outfits, the former X Factor winner has been pushing the envelope a little too.

And last night was another example of Leona experimenting with an edgier style, wearing a bizarre lips dress to the Los Angeles premiere of Justin Bieber's film Never Say Never.

And it seems the 25-year-old has been harbouring some secret talents, designing the unique outfit herself.

The ensemble features a black high-waisted pencil skirt with a sheer top section and the head-turning hot pink lips to cover her modesty.

Between the Gaga-esque frock and sleek, Nicole Scherzinger-style hair, the songstress was barely recognisable.

While she was a little older than most of the premiere attendees, Leona appeared to enjoy the film. She tweeted: 'At the @Justinbieber premiere ha! Waiting for the movie to start :)'

She added: 'The movie was good : ) really sweet x'

A spokesperson for the singer told Mail Online that she is interested in starting her own ethical clothes line 'sometime in the very near future.'

Leona told her followers on Twitter that she will be creating her own gown for the Grammy awards too, tweeting: 'Designing outfits for Grammy week! Picking fabrics, so fun!'

The Bleeding Love singer is nominated at the awards ceremony this weekend.
Her song I See You, recorded for the ‘Avatar’ soundtrack, has been nominated in the Best Song Written for Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media category at the ceremony on February 13.

She will go up against The Weary Kind from Crazy Heart, This City from Tremé, Kiss Like Your Kiss from True Blood and Down In New Orleans from The Princess And The Frog.

Leona has also been hard at work recording her third album.

She has been in the studio working on a series of collaborations with big name producers inclduign Toby Gad, Dallas Austin, Jeff Bhasker, Ryan Tedder, Harvey Mason Jr, Chuck Harmony, Ne-yo and David Guetta.

She tweeted this week: 'Recording with Toby today, I lurv this song guys! I’m excited.'
