English rose Kate Winslet's romance is in full bloom

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Birthday blooms: Kate Winslet returned to her New York home the day after her birthday with an armful of roses

It's a sure sign she's being romanced. As Kate Winslet carried an armful of gorgeous roses.

One would hope they're from new love, model Louis Dowler, 34, and they certainly appear to have put a smile on her face.

Kate was seen returning home clutching a romantic bouquet of flowers in New York City the day after celebrating her 35th birthday.

She also carried a bag handily monogrammed with her initials.

New beau Louis was nowhere to be seen, but she looked happy enough after spending the previous day and night with handsome model.

They've barely been dating three months, but yesterday seen together walking hand in hand, Kate and Louis looked blissfully in love.

With their hands firmly interlocked, the British actress was seen looking up at her new man, with a certain glint in her eye.

The casual pair were spotted on a shopping trip in New York yesterday, with Louis being the perfect gentleman and carrying Kate's Zara shopping bag.

Kate looked chic in jeans, boots and a Belstaff leather jacket.

The MailOnline has learned that the jacket was a gift from Louis, who purchased it for her in the London Mayfair store last week, perhaps as a birthday present for the star who turned 35 today.

British born Dowler, who has modelled for Paco Rabanne and Paul Smith, has been virtually inseparable from Miss Winslet for the past several months.

They were introduced at a party by a mutual friend.

Meanwhile Kate has moved Chicago while she shoots her latest film, Contagion, alongside Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law and Matt Damon.

She plans to juggle the care of Joe, six, and Mia, nine, with her estranged husband Sam Mendes, who remains in New York after the break-up of their seven-year marriage six months ago.

'Kate hates the idea of having a long distance relationship, even for a short period of time.

They are absolutely smitten,' a source close to the actress said recently.
'They have discussed the idea of Louis going with her while she films so they won't have to endure a long-distance relationship at such an early stage in what seems to be something pretty serious.

Kate hasn't been this happy in a very long time.'
