Wife number three? Golf legend Greg Norman has let slip he is engaged to be married for the third time, to interior designer girlfriend Kirsten Kutner

Golf legend Greg Norman is engaged to be married for the third time.

The Aussie golfing told New Idea magazine of how he proposed to Ms Kutner, unexpectedly presenting her with a six-carat diamond ring.

One minute we were having a day-to-day conversation and the next moment, all of a sudden, everything changed - our lives changed,' he said in an interview published in this week's edition of the magazine.
'It was perfect.'

Miss Kutner, an interior designer who grew up in Sydney's northern suburbs, also spoke for the first time about Norman, saying he is 'the big love of my life.'

'I am definitely the luckiest woman on this earth. I am so blessed to have such an amazing man to share my life with,' she told New Idea.

Norman, 55, was divorced from tennis legend Chris Evert in December after one year of marriage.

He split from first wife Laura Andrassy after 26 years of marriage in 2007 in a divorce that reportedly cost him $120 million.

Norman and Kutner have been dating since the spring.

The designer is 14-years his junior and the mother of little girls who reportedly call Norman 'daddy.'

Norman revealed he was in love with Kutner just three months after his split from second wife Evert.

Miss Kutner has been a long time friend of Norman, having spent much of her childhood in Australia where he grew up.

Confirming his new relationship to Australia's New Idea magazine earlier this year, Mr Norman said: 'In life, we all go through a learning curve and my life is no exception.

‘I am now in a very good place with Kirsten. She grew up in Sydney's northern suburbs and we are planning to visit Australia this winter.'

According to friends, the couple became reacquainted last year, running into one another at the Fairmont Cairo hotel in Egypt, but it is not clear whether he was still living with Miss Evert at the time.

A source said: 'He has held a candle for Kirsten for quite a while and he's not holding back on his affection for her now.

‘They look like they have gotten to know each other very well in a relatively short space of time.'

According to the source, Miss Kutner was divorced from her husband, the father of their two children, aged five and two, earlier this year.

Wife number two: Norman and former tennis star Chris Evert before their wedding in 2008, the couple split after one year of marriage

Mr Norman's first wife, Laura Andrassy, was left embittered when he divorced her and married Miss Evert - but the sporting world thought that as two former stars in their professions he and Miss Evert would be the perfect match.

But when they announced they had separated, their friends blamed the split on a clash of super-egos.

The friend who spoke of Mr Norman's new relationship said Miss Kuitner was a 'much more grounded, laid-back individual' than Miss Evert.

'She is worldly and has lived all over the world,’ they said.

'She's comfortable in any social situation, but she's happy to let Greg have the spotlight.’

Mr Norman is reported to have paid Miss Andrassy £69million in a divorce settlement but his divorce from Miss Evert, made official in an obscure Florida courthouse last January, did not involve an expensive carve-up of assets because of a pre-nuptial agreement.
