Enjoying the view? Justin Bieber hotfoots it from his premiere to NY Knicks game to catch the cheerleaders in action

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Nice view: 16-year-old Justin Bieber gets an eyeful while watching the New York Knicks cheerleaders at Madison Square Garden last night

He is used to being surrounded by hordes of young girls, screaming his name and asking for his hand in marriage.

So after the New York premiere of his new film Never Say Never turned out to be surprisingly devoid of female attendees, Justin Bieber may have felt in need of some girl attention.

So straight after attending the screening of the fly-on-the wall documentary, the teen idol raced over to Madison Square Garden, where he was caught eyeing up the attractive New York Knicks cheerleaders from his courtside seat.

Looking like any hot-blooded teenage boy, Justin smirked appreciatively as one brunette dancer in hot pants busted some moves right in front of him.

The pop star, who is vocal about his crushes on older women like Cheryl Cole, Rihanna and Kim Kardashian, only managed to tear his eyes away when he was approached by Spike Lee for a chat.

The film maker had earlier joined Bieber at the Never Say Never premiere, after the Baby singer sent a shout out to him via Twitter.

Thanks for coming, man: The pop star was thrilled when Spike Lee turned up to the premiere, after Justin gave a shout out to the director on Twitter

He wrote the day before: 'NYC premiere tomorrow... Maybe Spike Lee will come. Spike Lee is the man. Spike be at the Regal E-Walk Theatre on West 42nd at 530pm.'

The Malcolm X director took Justin up on his offer, attending with his son Jackson.
But it was clear that Lee had more important places to be that night, and turned up to the screening decked out in his Knicks merchandise.

He arrived to chat with Bieber at half time, and the singer immediately took to Twitter again to let his followers know.

'SPIKE LEE came through and then I saw him after the movie at the Knicks game. Great guy.'

The popular youngster also chatted to actor Chris Rock at the game, which saw the Knicks lose to the Dallas Mavericks 113-97.

Earlier, the New York premiere of Never Say Never was strangely low on female fans, after the frenzied scenes of Toronto's premiere saw a near-riot when thousands of girls were unable to gain entry to the overwhelmed venue.

It was a more civilised affair at the Regal E-Walk 13 theatre, where a handful of adult celebrities and the film makers walked the red carpet.

Actor Stephen Baldwin arrived with daughter Hailey Baldwin, 16, who excitedly posed for a photo with the young heartthrob.

Other celebrities in attendance included Jay Sean and Deborah Norville.

The low-key scenes came as a contrast to a day before in Toronto in Bieber's native Canada, where streets around the cinema came to a standstill.

Thousands of fans who were unable to get inside the overwhelmed venue threatened to start a riot and storm the theatre when they were denied entry.

His die-hard fans - 'Beliebers' - had camped outside overnight to catch a glimpse of their idol.

While some were left disappointed, earlier in the day Bieber thrilled one fan who asked him if he would marry her, when he replied: 'Never say never.'

But Bieber didn't seem put off by the lack of fans. Instead he tweeted: 'NYC PREMIERE DAY. LEGGO!'

Luckily for his fans this isn't the only premiere. Bieber is holding another in Los Angeles tomorrow.

And with the city's sunnier climate fans are sure to be out to greet him.

Never Say Never, which follows the teen star on his 2010 concert tour and features appearances by Usher, Miley Cyrus, Boys II Men, Sean Kingston and Jaden Smith, is released in the UK on February 18.
