January Jones has unveiled a red hot new look - statement thick eyebrows and red hair.

The Mad Men star usually wears her hair blonde and wavy, but was transformed for the photoshoot for MarkTBeauty.com.

This is yet another new face for January. Yesterday she stepped out in Los Angeles looking au naturel, in contrast to her normally perfectly made-up TV appearance

In the hit TV series January plays the archetypal housewife Betty Draper, but her new look is more femme fatale.

According to Townsend this was intentional.

'You always see January as this ’50s, sort of Grace Kelly character,' said the make-up artist.

'I wanted to really show off the power of hair and make-up with a bit of a ’20s influence.'

Jones is perhaps trying to keep a low profile after her well publicised car crash last month, where she lost control of her Land Rover and hit two parked vehicles.

The 32-year-old's car was impounded by investigating officers, although she was not arrested.

Fans can catch Jones in her more glamorous persona of Betty Draper when Mad Men returns for its fourth season in the U.S. on July 25.

The series promises new drama after Betty asked her womanising husband Don, played by Jon Hamm, for a divorce last season.


‘I never start fresh and pretend like something didn't happen,' Mad Men series creator Matthew Weiner told TV Guide recently.

'That's my way of saying that whatever you saw at the end of last season had a permanent impact.'
