What a prince! Orlando Bloom plays the Duke of Buckingham in the new Three Musketeers movie, also starring Milla Jovovich and Christoph Waltz
He became an international sex-symbol with his portrayal of passionate swordsman Will Turner in Pirates of the Caribbean.
And now Orlando Bloom will be reprising his swashbuckling skills again as the Duke of Buckingham in the new Three Musketeers film, directed by Paul W. Anderson.
On location in Germany with Christoph Waltz and Milla Jovovich, Bloom looked perfectly at home in his outlandish costume.
Wearing a bright blue doublet and hose and a pair of flower-incrusted knee-high boots, the actor cut a very dashing figure indeed.
Oscar winner Christoph Waltz, who plays Cardinal Richelieu looked equally dapper in his grey suit of armour and red cloak.
If music be the food of love: Orlando listens to his iPod between takes on the Three musketeers set in Germany
Both Waltz and Bloom sported fabulously groomed facial hair, with the curled mustaches favoured by men of the period.
In between takes on the set, Bloom kept himself occupied by listening to music on his iPod.
But judging by his extremely happy expression, the 33-year-old actor was anything but bored.
Bloom is still in the honeymoon phase of his marriage to Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr, who he wed in a private ceremony in Anguilla.
Gallant! Orlando recently announced that he and Miranda Kerr are expecting their first child early next year
The couple recently announced they are expecting their first child together early next year.
Previously Miranda has said: ‘I have always been very open about wanting to be a mother one day. And I’ve always thought Orlando would be a great dad.’
'I've always wanted kids, so someday, eventually, yes, it will happen.
'My ideal situation would be to live on a farm in a solar-powered house with a hammock and a vegetable patch.'
Smiley on set: Christoph Waltz gives Orlando a run for his money in his grey armour and sleek hair
Bloom, 33, revealed his happiness at the news during a Munich photocall for his latest film.
'I'm really excited about it, it's great,' said the beaming actor as he attended the press event to mark the start of filming The Three Musketeers.
But there's a chance Bloom will be away for much of his wife's pregnancy - Musketeers will film largely in Germany and France.
'I'll go home as often as possible. She'll come out here too,' he said.
