Double take: Eva Longoria and Michelle Obama are caught in a fashion faux pas after they arrived to a state dinner in matching dresses
When Eva Longoria and Michelle Obama joined President Barack Obama for a state dinner with the Mexican president, they were meant to be preoccupied with immigration issues and the fight against drug violence.
But instead the two glamorous ladies were caught in a fashion clash, when they both embarrassingly arrived in matching one-shouldered asymmetrical dresses.
Mexican American actress Longoria wowed guests in an orange silk floor-length gown with dangling diamond earrings and a clutch purse.
But the First Lady must have been using the same stylist, as she too was dressed in an almost identical pattern with dangling diamond earrings, only her frock was in cobalt blue.
Imitation is the best form of flattery though so we’re sure Michelle and Eva laughed off the comparison and bonded over the fashion faux pas
The president of Mexico, Felipe Calderon, and his wife Margarita Zavala attended the dinner at the White House for an official state visit amid tension over immigration politics and Mexico’s deadly drug war.

Calderon feels that the United States’ laws in Arizona discriminate against many immigrant workers and are too harsh.
President Obama stated in a speech though: 'In the United States of America, no law-abiding person - be they an American citizen, a legal immigrant, or a visitor or tourist from Mexico - should ever be subject to suspicion simply because of what they look like.'
Meanwhile, the Mexican leader also stated that he is pleased that Washington acknowledges that U.S.- made weapons and U.S. demand for drugs are big parts of the problem in the war on drugs.
