Starting out: A fresh-faced David Cameron with his blonde fiancee Samantha
This is the Camerons preparing to move home - 15 years ago.
Aged 24 and with her hair dyed blonde, Samantha Sheffield, as she was then, had recently graduated from Bristol University.
Mr Cameron was 29 and working as a public relations executive at TV company Carlton.
Even then, he preferred not to wear a tie and strikes a louche pose with foppish hair and one hand stuck in his pocket.
The pictures were taken at the four-bedroom house they had just bought in Notting Hill in West London. They would marry the next year
In the following years, until they moved just round the corner in 2006, the house would be turned into a cherished family home.
The Daily Mail photographer who took the pictures 15 years ago recalled yesterday: 'My boss said "Go round and take a picture of this couple - this guy is going places".'
Work in progress: The couple pose amid the chaos of renovation work
Before getting married, Mr Cameron warned his wife-to-be: 'I want to be an MP. If you think you would hate it, you have to say so.'
Presumably Samantha raised no objection, because yesterday the couple were getting ready to move again.
However it could take two or three weeks before they are settled into Downing Street. It is understood they have only had a fleeting glance at their new accommodation.
When they do move in, the couple and their children Nancy, six, Arthur (known as Elwen), four, and their baby, who is due in September, will live in the flat at No.11 because it is larger than the one above No.10.
Mrs Cameron is to scale back her job as creative director of upmarket stationery firm Smythson to a two-day role as creative consultant.
