Kerry Katona shows off her latest catch during a spot of fishing at her Surrey home

By Daily Mail Reporter

He's hooked: Plucky Kerry Katona looks ecstatic as she manages to catch a fish at her home in Godstone, Surrey while daughter Heidi looks on

Last time she went fishing Kerry Katona left it to a professional, who failed to catch anything.

So, this time around she took it upon herself to take control of the fishing rod and throw a line into the fishing pond at her Surrey home.

The 29-year-old sat on the bank of her pond, which is in the grounds of her £3,000-a-month luxury home in Godstone, and managed to catch a fish almost immediately.

Going for gold: Miss Katona casts her line watched by her children Heidi and Maxwell, a cameraperson and friends

Flashing her usual cheeky grin as she realised she'd caught the impressively-sized fish, which appeared to be a carp, Kerry seemed to be having a whale of a time.

She was accompanied by her daughter Heidi, son Maxwell and former road manager Carl Machin - who snagged the fish in his net.

Last week Machin showed her how to cast a line with little success.

Country life: Kerry appears to be settling into her new home - enjoying trips to the woods and the leafy aspect of her £3,000-a-month country pile

Machin worked with her for four years back in her days with Atomic Kitten - the 37-year-old now works for singer Peter Andre, but was enjoying a day off while Andre is in Italy.

A friend of Kerry's told MailOnline she thought her three-year-old daughter would enjoy the day out.

'She had never been fishing, but I said it was something that I remembered doing with my dad when I was young,' said the friend.

Stage-managed: Kerry's management company have helped ressurect her image - here she is pictured on a family day out to Christmas Tree Farm in Kent

The former I'm A Celebrity winner is currently trying to overhaul her image and has moved down south to leafy Godstone in Surrey.

She has been pictured embracing the country life, spending time with her children in carefully stage-managed photo opportunities.

Peter Andre's management team, Can Associates, are now masterminding her career.

But her closest friends are said to be convinced that the star is making a mistake by falling for her new boyfriend, a report has claimed.

Yesterday, it was reported that Katona has started dating Warrington-based handyman Adam Waldron after meeting him on Facebook.

However, according to the Daily Star, Miss Katona's loved ones believe that she should be concentrating on finding a celebrity partner in order to boost her money-making potential.

One source told the newspaper: 'She needs to have someone like Peter Andre on her arm if she's to start earning serious money again and landing big contracts.'

Last year her life was left in tatters when she was sacked from her six-figure deal with supermarket Iceland after pictures were published of her snorting cocaine.

However, since her split with former husband Mark Croft she has gone to great lengths to turn over a new leaf and transformed herself both physically and career-wise - signing up to film a new TV show and looking healthier.
