What a difference a day makes: Abbey Clancy comes over all shy... just 24 hours after smiling for the cameras

By Jody Thompson

Come over all shy? Abbey Clancy was in no mood to be photographed as she arrived at her local hairdressers today

Just a day after a smiling Abbey Clancy was spotted enjoying herself at the riding stables, it appears she's not in the mood for the cameras today.

Despite putting on a happy face for the paparazzi as she spent the day horse-riding yesterday, the Liverpudlian model wasn't quite so ready for her close-up today.

Amidst continuing speculation over the status of her engagement with footballer Peter Crouch, the 24-year-old tried to hide her face as she left her local hairdressers in Surrey.

After spending three hours inside the getting her hair done at the Leo Bancroft salon in Weybridge - not far from the £3million mansion she shares with her fiance.

And after her pampering session was finished, Clancy phoned up a driver to come and drive her home in her car - which had acquired a parking ticket during her lengthy stay at the salon.

As she left the salon, the model held up her oversized handbag and a salon brochure as she rushed back to her BMW convertible.

Clancy's reluctance to be photographed will no doubt make fans wonder if something has happened to sour her previously happy demeanour.

On Wednesday, the WAG was seen at a stables in nearby Sussex, laughing and joking with a friend.

However, despite her smiles, Ms Clancy was still minus her engagement ring - reportedly worth £200,000 -as she decides whether or not to forgive her partner.

On Tuesday, Ms Clancy made her return to her presenting job on This Morning.

Heading home: Abbey was then driven home to the £3million Surrey mansion she shares with Peter Crouch

Abbey had taken a fortnight off from presenting her fashion segment on the show following claims that England footballer Crouch, 29, cheated on her with a teenage prostitute.

As well as claims Crouch paid 19-year-old prostitute Monica Mint for sex while on a stag do in Madrid last month, photos then emerged of the Tottenham Hotspur player apparently flirting with women in France which further rocked the couple's relationship

Abbey's also been without the rock while filming her E4 reality TV show Great British Hairdresser, which started shooting earlier this month.

Abbey presents the reality show, a 10-part series which will see celebrity stylist James Brown seek out the best hairdressing talent in Britain. It will be screened on E4 early in 2011.

However, the relationship rift with Abbey doesn't seem to have affected Peter's scoring ability - at least not on the pitch.

He scored a hat-trick in Spurs' Europa League match against Young Boys of Berne last night.

Ironically, Abbey has previously spoken of her trust in the player, telling OK! magazine Clancy previously spoke publicly about her trust in Crouch, adding that her relationship was 'different' from those of many other footballers.

She continued: 'There are loads of footballers who are happily married and you don't hear anything about them...Everyone chats Peter up, and it doesn't matter if I'm there or not. It amuses me and Peter doesn't take any notice of them.'

A keen dressage rider like Toni Terry and Katie Price, Abbey is thought to be taking her mind of her relationship problems by preparing her steed for a competition.
