Mischa Barton's ex-boyfriend Brandon Davis denies calling her one of the fattest people in the world

Insults: Mischa Barton was called one of the fattest people on the planet by somebody masquerading as her ex-boyfriend Brandon Davis


Mischa Barton has been left devastated by comments made about her weight on the micro-blogging site Twitter.

And it's been claimed that the offending party was none other than her ex-boyfriend Brandon Davis.

The actress found herself the victim of online abuse earlier this week when the comments were made on a Twitter account in the name BrandonDavis14.

One of the tweets read: 'Omg (oh my God). Just realised my ex turned in to 1 of the fattest people on the planet. I'm gonna start dating plus size models. Not! Mischa the Hefer.'

Incidentally Davis himself was once overweight.

He was pictured in 2006 looking rather portly while on holiday, finally shedding the pounds and looking slimmer and healthier in 2008

But speaking to In Touch magazine, Davis, 30, denied that the taunt had anything to do with him and said: 'I would never say anything nasty about Mischa, especially about her weight. I am p**sed that someone stole my identity and started Twittering things.'

Although the offending comment wasn't on his page - which has only been up and running since April 6 - he did make reference to it.

On April 10, he Tweeted: 'With rick soloman. He stole my phone and wrote the mischa comment. Would never speak that way about an ex.'

However, the day after the account was opened, there was a Tweet that read: 'Just saw @jeffbeacher and thought it was Mischa', a reference to the rather rotund US showman Jeff Beacher.

One insider reports that Mischa has been offered $100,000 to publicly lose weight with Jenny Craig, although the company denies that claim.

The source apparently said: 'Mischa’s not that fat and is working out with a trainer to get her body back to what it was before.'

Mischa had trouble getting into her car earlier this week - the former OC star just couldn't get her key to work in the door of her convertible Classic, which didn't look quite so cool all of a sudden.
