Yesterday she was named as the 'supertop' customer by the French shoe designer.
Louboutin revealed she regularly flies from her home in the US to his stores in Paris to snap up the latest designs.
Louboutin said: 'She comes to Paris, and she literally buys everything. Then she flies back to New York, says, 'I'm a little disappointed there's nothing in the store,' and walks out with 80 pairs. She is super.'
With the average cost of a pair of Louboutin heels priced at roughly £300 it means Ms Steel's collection is worth close to £2million.
Steele, who has a fortune estimated at over 50million, has written over 50 books and is the seventh most popular author in the world.
Her bestsellers include titles such as A Perfect Stranger, Five Days in Paris, Second Chance and A Good Woman.
Louboutin himself estimates that about 3,000 women have around 500 pairs of his shoes each.
While most of the fashion industry suffered during the recession his sales went up by double figures. He told Vanity Fair Magazine that he sold 340,000 pairs of his distinctive red soled shoes last year.
Many celebrities favour the 46 year old designer's shoes, including Jennifer Lopez who wrote a song called Louboutin to extol the virtues of the heels.
